Student uses grammar structures that have been taught in class with few errors. Student uses grammar structures that have been taught in class without error and also uses more complex structures.

Student's vocabulary is very limited and it affects communication.
Student's vocabulary is limited but communication isn't affected.
Student has sufficient vocabulary recourses to  communicate ideas.
Student has a wide vocabulary, much above that of a student at this level.

 

Pronunciation

 

Student's pronunciation is unclear and it is difficult to understand him/her.
Student has some pronunciation errors which impede adequate communication.
Student has some pronunciation problems, but is able to communicate ideas. Student's pronunciation is very clear and easy to understand.

 

Written ability
Student's grammar, vocabulary and organizational limitations make communication very difficult. Much is translated word by word from native language.
Student has some problems with grammar, vocabulary and organization, but ideas are communicated. Little translation.
Student has few problems with grammar, vocabulary and organization. No translation.
Student has very few problems with grammar and vocabulary and organizatinal skills are above expected level.
